White Porcelain Flower Pendant
Hand pinched flowers and a leaf form this bouquet pendant in blue and white. This bouquet is a timeless piece of romanticism. All that is needed is a ribbon or a chain and a bail to turn it into a necklace. It can be suspended from the loop of clay on the back of the largest flower.
Since it was fired to 2300 degrees F. it is glass-like in its durability and strength. It measures 2 1/4" in length and 1 3/4" at its widest point. It projects 1 1/4" from back to front. The hole in the clay loop is about 1/8" in diameter.

Porcelain Shell Fragment Pendant Bead SOLD no longer available
A fragment of shell was pressed into damp, malleable porcelain, shaped around the edges and a hole punched in it. Purple, tan and pale blue glazes flowed in and around the textures highlighting some areas and obscuring others, making each pendant highly unique. I included other pendant beads in this series in the detail pictures so that you could note how much each one differs from the next. (The smaller flat one is for sale on the Beads of Clay Team site on Etsy.)
The main pendant shown is 2 1/2" in length and 1" in width. It is about 1/8" in thickness and is glazed on both sides. Its hole is roughly 1/8" in diameter also. High fired to 2300 degrees F., these porcelain pendants have become as durable and strong as glass.
Pendant Disk Porcelain Bead
The form of this bead with its large central hole in the middle of a bowl shaped disk reminds me of the shell necklaces worn by turn of the century tribesmen from places like New Guinea. Due to the fact that these porcelain medallions are hand made no two are exactly alike in shape or glaze. The one shown here is glazed in orange, yellow and black; its pattern formed by the natural tendency of glazes to run on sloping surfaces.
In the detail pictures I've uploaded another available glaze color as well.
The pieces are very strong since the clay was fired to a maturing temperature of 2300 degrees F. making them the equivalent of glass. The disks measure approximately 3" in diameter and their central hole is 7/8" in diameter. Their rise is also about 7/8".
