                                                                            Porcelain Jewelry

The basis for all of this jewelry is hand rolled and pinched porcelain beads.  Semi-precious stone, glass, copper and silver  also play their part. Necklaces are strung on tiger tail and finished with hand twisted copper or silver clasps.  Bangles are wire wrapped copper, brass or silver with central porcelain beads.  Earrings hang from stainless steel hypoallergenic ear-wires but can be switched to other metals if needed.  Many pieces are priced individually but can be combined to form sets at your discretion.  Some pieces come only as parts of sets. This piece and other pieces of  jewelry may be bought on the Porcelain Jewelry pages.

All of the pieces found on these pages are wheel thrown or hand-built of porcelain or stoneware high-fired to at least 2300F.  Meant to enhance your daily life with function and beauty, the stoneware pieces are microwave, dishwasher and oven proof.  More delicate both in appearance and function, porcelain can still withstand the dishwasher and is far stronger than its fragile, low-fire, look-a-likes.  Vases, mugs, pitchers, casseroles, jars, canisters, baking dishes, dish sets and other functional pieces may be found among these pages.  These pieces may be bought on the Pottery pages.

                                                                            Clay Kimonos

                                                                            Shards
These extruded tile, fire & glaze paintings show case a wide variety of firing techniques.  From alternative firings like raku and tin foil sagger to high fire reduction and oxidation, these are abstract paintings done in clay and glaze. Their rectangular configuration, front seam like closure and ribbon sash 'waist' are specific to a kimono hence the name of the series: The Clay Kimono.  Their backs are strung with picture wire and ready to hang.  This piece and other tile glaze paintings may be bought on the Clay Kimono page.

                                                                            Porcelain Patchworks

                                                                            Picture
                                                                            Pink Porcelain Ripple Bowl
Strung for hanging, these pieces are made of a crazy quilted patchwork of colored porcelain and impressed lace.  Abstract art though they are, they still can be used for food service since they are glazed with a clear glaze and high fired to 2300F.  This and other pieces of porcelain patchwork may be bought on the Porcelain Patchwork  page.

                                                                            House & Garden

                                                                            Picture
These pages show decorative pieces for house and garden including flower pots, wall pockets, jewelry boxes, spoon holders, whimseys etc.  These pieces are also made from durable stoneware and/or porcelain.  The flower pot shown at left for example is made of high fire stoneware but the flowers and leaves are made from porcelain for added visual delicacy.  (That is the decorations on the flower pot are made from porcelain; the ones in the pot are made by God and you have to put them there yourself.)  These pieces may be bought on the House & Garden pages.

                                                                            Bargains & Sales

                                                                            Picture
These are pages of less expensive items and are found under 'more' on the navigation bar.  They are grouped by the reasons for their inexpensiveness into two categories on the drop down menu.

FIRSTS are products that have nothing wrong with them. But they are either naturally low in price like spoon rests and trinket dishes; or they have been around way too long and have been discounted.

SECONDS are products that are flawed in some way.  Either the design did not work out quite right or the clay and/or glazes produced a flaw when they were fired.  For example, glaze runs that glue a piece to a shelf can produce beautiful pieces that leak.  All of the pieces shown in this section have been discounted at least 50% and some of them have been discounted much more than that.

                                                                            Navigation

Or ...  how items for sale are organized in the pages on this web site.   All pages except for Policies have a drop down menu.  The navigation bar button will take you to a cover page with a grid of pictures. Descriptions and prices are listed in successive pages on the drop down menu under each navigation bar button.  All of the pictures in the picture grids located on the cover pages are linked to their corresponding drop down page so that you can browse by picture as well as drop down tags.  Most drop down pages have approximately six related items on them.
